Developing Into An Elopement Wedding Photographer

By Mattie Knight

Not every couple wants to broadcast to the world that they are getting married. So, as a photographer, you have no choice but to adhere to their demands and make special adjustments to your schedule and your way of taking pictures. The location of this event has to remain a mystery for everybody.

In getting used to the place of the event, it is important for you to stay a whole day there. You need the peace and quiet to test your angles as an elopement wedding photographer NYC. Also, you have to be secretive about your travel itineraries especially if you are the only one who has been invited to this event.

Anything that is unique has to go from your roll in New York, NY. However, this does not include the floral arrangements and the rings of the couple. You still have to follow standard protocol or this will look like just any other event. Just avoid having a wide angle for the venue and be more people oriented even if that has never been your forte.

Have perfect timing in all shots. Practice on some of the design committee if you have to. Also, use the most zoom in less in your collection. Turn off your phone during the entire event for you to capture every moment on that occasion. Just put nostalgia as your theme for this and come up with very memorable pieces.

Have a fixed rate that everybody can afford. You will not be needing so many equipment for this event. Your efforts shall be minimal and your travel money can even be provided by the customers. Just charge them for your effort to eliminate the factors that can tell where and when they have tied the knot.

Bring out the best in the bride when she is wearing her dress. Choose the angles that will make her look thinner. Use the vanity of a woman to your advantage. This is one way for you to improve your skills and get great reviews which can bring you to a different kind of project. Variety is what will keep you thinking outside of the box.

Capture most of these elements in the ceremony. However, you are not allowed to go beyond the square shot of the altar. That would already give too much details. Everything has to be in a close range shot but not close enough for the flaws of the couple to be seen. You still have to apply some tricks here.

The food that is being catered does not have to be filmed. Save on your limited shots. Point your camera at random people instead so that you will be able to capture laughter and romantic moments among everybody.

Lastly, keep your presence of mind during the party. The mini bar may be tempting but you can only have your go signal after your wrap up. Work will always come before fun for you not to accidentally lose your hard work to a cliff or a pool of water.
